The native DataFlex database is a ISAM based database. Since VDF 11, the native DataFlex database is also called the "embedded" database. This is not a client/server database so that each application connects to the datafile directly. As a result, windows networking optimisation techniques such as opportunistic locking can cause your database files to corrupt.
