Webapp Errors

Webapp errors can occur for any number of reasons. Here is a list of errors and solutions:

Communication error: No process is on the other end of the pipe

Error during Web Application Server session initialization, please try again later. Communication error: No process is on the other end of the pipe. Please check the Windows event log for further information about the problem.

This error suggests that the Webapp.exe is not running correctly. To help work out why the webapp isn't running, find the webapp.exe file in you workarea and double click it. When working correctly you will recieve the message "This program is a WebApp program and cannot be run standalone. This program must be run under Visual DataFlex Web Application Server. Please click OK to close this program.".

A common reason why the webapp may not run properly can be an "Unable to instantiate Com Object" type error.
